Five Yanks saw the field this weekend in England, with Christian Pulisic scoring the game winner for Chelsea over West Ham, and both Lynden Gooch and Duane Holmes having strong outings.
Chelsea 1 – 0 West Ham
Christian Pulisic was brought off of the bench in the 76th minute and scored the game winner at the death of the game to give Chelsea a crucial three points.
The game was back and forth, Chelsea with more of the chances throughout the game. Jorginho had the opportunity to win it in the 87th minute on the back of a West Ham mistake after Romelulu Lukaku was brought down by Craig Dawson in the box, resulting in a penalty and a straight red card. The resulting penalty kick was saved.
In the 90th minute, Pulisic was on hand for a sweeping attack that saw the American tuck his shot in at the back post from 12 yards out, sending Stamford Bridge into elation. Pulisic ran in to the crowd to celebrate the vital win, keeping them in third place in the Premier League.
Up next for Chelsea is a Thursday game at Manchester United.
