German Recap: Tyler Adams, RB Leipzig Put More Misery on John Brooks, Wolfsburg

Tyler Adams put in some work for a resurgent RB Leipzig in the second half before heading off for international duty as they came away with the shutout win over John Brooks and struggling Wolfsburg.

RB Leipzig 2-0 Wolfsburg

Two late goals ensured Leipzig walked away with all three points in their win over free-falling Wolfsburg at the Red Bull Arena.

Tyler Adams would come off the bench to play the final 35 minutes of the game, completing 83 percent of his passes and winning one duel. On the other end, John Brooks played the full 90, completing 81 percent of his passes and winning four duels.

It was a scoreless affair in the first half as Wolfsburg looked determined to score on their chances. However, Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulasci once again stepped up to make some crucial saves to prevent their opponents from taking the lead.

Entering the second half, the hosts started to push more in the attack. They thought they had broken the deadlock after Adams fired a shot from distance that was eventually put in by Willi Orban, but it was ruled due to an offside call.

This game could have headed towards a draw, but Leipzig finally made the breakthrough in the 76th minute when Orban finally goth his goal as he headed in the ball from a rebound off the frame.

Joko Gvardiol doubled their lead eight minutes later from a counter-attack. Nordi Mukiele played the ball to the Croatian international to slot home.

The win moves Leipzig up to sixth place in the standings with 31 points, just three away from the Champions League places. Wolfsburg put themselves deeper into the relegation dog fight with the loss as they now sit in 15th place with 21 points.
