Ethan Horvath joins Nottingham Forest

American shot-stopper Ethan Horvath has finally moved out of the shadow of former Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet as he signed on the dotted line to join English Championship side, Nottingham Forest, from Belgian champions Club Brugge.

The 26-year-old left Belgium on a free transfer, having seen out his contract, and has signed a three-year contract with the former European Cup champions.

The Colorado native spent four years in Belgium where he had mixed fortunes between the sticks.  He appeared in both the Champions League and Europa League games during his four years in Brugge, making 51 appearances for Club where he also earned three Pro League championship medals.  When the team signed Belgian international Mignolet at the start of the 2019-2020 season, the American rarely got into another game.

Horvath was named to the U.S. men’s national team this summer for the 2021 CONCACAF Nations League Final and was between the sticks as they beat Mexico in the final, where he saved a penalty and was named man of the match.

His move to Forest sees him ply his trade in his third country, having played for Molde in Norway before his Belgian adventure.
